Stamped Tie
By Shari Carroll

Create a stunning centerpiece of any outfit with a few swift stamps. This is not just your father’s necktie. You’ll be proud to be seen with anyone sporting the unique artwork.

Hero Materials:
SS100 Silky Stamping Sponge

Additional Materials:
A tie
fabric paints
sticky notes
scrap paper
paper plates

Instructions:
1. Clear a large area to work and lay down a sheet or two of protective paper. To keep the tie clear from any unwanted accidents or smudges, mask the perimeter of the tie with sticky notes. Leave open the section around the image area for stamping.

2. Cut a sponge with scissors into a few 1” square sections. Each piece of sponge will be used for each different color.

3. Pour small amounts of paint onto the paper plates. Allow for two colors per plate which will leave plenty of room for blotting.

4. Pick-up color with a sponge and blot off excess paint by dabbing it on a clean area of the plate. Apply inked sponge to the flower stamp.

5. Stamp onto the fabric being careful not to press too hard or rock the stamp. Repeat and change flower and color as desired.

6. Allow to dry over night, and then heat set.

Variation:
Choose from a variety of shadow stamps to create blocks of color.

Give a complete set with a beautiful cummerbund and a bow-tie.

Personalize the tie for an occasion. Stamp “Happy Father’s Day” with large alphabet stamps. Create a mood of love on Valentines Day with a cluster of heart stamps.
