Arch Cards
By Shari Carroll

With the introduction of Mona Lisa and the Eiffel Tower to our line of collage stamps, I thought it would only be fitting to include a shape of elegance and history; the Arch.

Instructions:
It only seems natural to showcase these masterpieces in a way that suits the rich history of their origins. I've come up with a way for you to create your own pieces of art with simple collage elements and papers that reflect that time in history.

I've included a template for you that you can download. There are three Arch sizes to choose from. You may increase or decrease the size of the arches to fit your needs. I suggest printing the template and glueing it to heavy cardstock. Cut out each arch size for continued use. I will refer to these arches as large, medium and small in my instructions for the example cards.

I have used Basic Grey Motifica, My Minds Eye Signature Suite Collection, and Cosmo Cricket Souvenir series of papers. I encourage you to find your favorties to incorporate into your pieces to suite your style of collage.

With that said, let's get started!

Eiffel Tower

I started out with the large arch and traced it onto an Earth tone note card. I cut the shape from the card. From left to right, I silver embossed the dot flourish twice onto a scrap of paper and adhered it to the card. I attached a thin strip of paper to sit next to the flourish. Next, I stamped the script in black ink, tore the right edge and placed it next to the thin strip. I tore a piece of green paper and affixed it in the right area of the arch. I then added a thin strip of brown cardstock just below the green. I stamped an addition flourish in the lower right corner with Soft Sand ink.

Next I stamped the Eiffel tower onto printed paper with black ink. I traced around the image with the small template and cut out. I mounted my image onto a light brown cardstock and trimmed leaving a border. I tied string around the arch and adhered it to the card. To finish, I added a paper flower and brad.

Mona

I started with the medium arch and traced it onto a scrap of cardstock. I cut it out and glued down two pieces of pattern paper to cover it. I then stamped the dot flourish with brown ink and thank you with black ink. I affixed the arch onto an Earth tone note card and trimmed around leaving a small border.

Next, I stamped the Mona Lisa onto white cardstock and trimmed around her carefully. I traced the small arch onto pattern paper, trimmed, mounted it to brown cardstock and trimmed it leaving a small border. I affixed Mona onto the small arch and adhered it in place on the card. To finish, I cut a slit in the left spine of the card and ran a piece of ribbon through, tying in a knot. I added a paper flower by pulling the ribbon ends through the center of the flower.

Mona and the Eiffel Tower

I traced the medium arch onto a piece of pattern paper. I silver embossed the french script repeating as need to fill the arch. I adhered the arch to a Chocolate note card.

Next, I stamped Mona and Eiffel onto white cardstock and trimmed carfully. I affixed Mona in place and covered her bottom portion with a piece of torn paper. I then adhered the Eiffel tower in place. I cut a piece of lace and affixed it to cover just the bottom edge of the Eiffle Tower.

To finish, I added a paper flower and secured it with a black brad.
